Several community events throughout the year benefit the Food Bank, including:
Running of the Turkeys
On Saturday, November 17, 2011 over 300 participants came out to Nelson's Grove for our 3rd Annual Running of the Turkeys! This year the event raised $16,000 and 85 turkeys were donated. This also marked the first year that the race was an official timed event. Thank you to our event founders, the Rogers and Riley families, all of our participants and sponsors for making it a success.

Pig Day Breakfast at the Davis Farmers Market
Each year on the first Saturday in March the Davis Farmers Market holds their Pig Day celebration. The Food Bank of Yolo County partners with Sodexo to host a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and more. While a donation is encouraged, the breakfast is open to the community as a “thank you” for another year of support.

Food Stamp Challenge- Can you eat for a week on a Food Stamp Budget? While Food Bank staff and some local politicians and journalists took the Food Stamp Challenge in 2009, it’s never too late to try it yourself! The tools and guidance are available by clicking here or create your own virtual event.
