Volunteers are a crucial part of the Food Bank of Yolo County. We rely on volunteers to help us work toward our mission to alleviate hunger and malnutrition in Yolo County. Through our various programs, volunteers contributed over 12,000 hours of time in 2012. One person can make a difference!
- All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or older. At this time, we do not have any volunteer opportunities for minors. Please check back soon!
- All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation. These mandatory orientations run about an hour and will be held during the first and third week of each month (dates subject to change). During the orientation, volunteers will become acclimated with FBYC history, policies, procedures, current volunteer opportunities/projects, and be given a tour. Volunteers will also be asked to complete our application/waiver/media release and be given a volunteer handbook.
- Due to limited space and availability, we cannot accommodate groups of 4 or more on a regular basis, however, occasional group opportunities do arise. Interested in a group opportunity? Email our Volunteer & Food Drive Coordinator to be added to our group volunteer list.
- Unless otherwise indicated, all volunteer opportunities take place Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm (the warehouse closes at 2:30pm).
Upcoming Volunteer Orientations:
Wednesday, March 27th at 9am
Tuesday, April 9th at 4pm
We have an immediate need for volunteers to help with our Kid's Farmers Market program site in Woodland!
